Synopsis
Inspired by a short story by Chekhov, this film follows Maria, a young housemaid in a village house who desperately wants to sleep. She is exhausted but constantly disturbed by the crying of the child in her care and by the demands of her employers — a melancholic study of servitude and exhaustion.
