Synopsis
Told from the perspective of the son of a war veteran, the film examines how the violence of Portugal's colonial war became lodged in the bodies and psyches of those who lived it — and how, like a virus, its trauma passed on to the next generation. Using a striking mix of sand, salt, drawn animation, and live action, Ribeiro creates a meditation on inherited violence and memory.
