Grand Tour
Synopsis
In 1917 Rangoon, a British civil servant named Edward flees his fiancée Molly on the very day of their wedding, embarking on a journey through Asia as his initial panic gives way to melancholy and a confrontation with his own hollow existence. Undeterred, Molly sets out to follow him across the continent on her own grand tour. The film weaves together two journeys — one driven by flight, the other by devotion — across an Asia both real and imagined.
