Synopsis
Seventeen-year-old Zacarias enlists in the Portuguese army dreaming of adventure, only to end up in Mozambique in 1917 fighting German forces. Left behind after a bout of malaria, he sets off alone on an extraordinary journey through Makua territory — walking over a thousand kilometres through the African bush.
