Synopsis
Spanning twenty-five years of Angola's devastating civil war, the film traces three generations of women: grandmother Lelena, the missing Nayola who vanished searching for her husband, and Yara, the rebellious teenage rapper she left behind. Past and present interweave in bold 2D animation, exploring how war's trauma is inherited across time. Based on the play A Caixa Preta by José Eduardo Agualusa and Mia Couto.
