An intimate portrait of the Three Marias — Maria Isabel Barreno, Maria Teresa Horta, and Maria Velho da Costa — who in 1972 published New Portuguese Letters, a book immediately banned by Portugal's political police. The documentary tells the story of how their trial for crimes against morality sparked an extraordinary international wave of feminist solidarity. Winner of the Audience Award at DocLisboa 2022.
