The 2025 edition ran across the autumn at the Moviemento in Kreuzberg, with screenings every Monday and Thursday followed by conversations, a glass of Port wine, and the occasional pastel de nata. Twelve films spanned drama, documentary, animation and docufiction, from Portugal and the wider Portuguese-speaking world.

Opening night set the tone with live music, a concert by A Panda do Sol and Pól Silva that had the whole room warming up before the screenings began.

The programme opened with Basil da Cunha's Manga d'Terra and included Miguel Gomes' Grand Tour, Margarida Cardoso's Banzo, and Denise Fernandes' Hanami, among others. Many of the filmmakers joined us in the room to talk with the audience after the lights came up.

Renée Nader Messora and João Salaviza brought A Flor do Buriti, which they co-directed, carrying the voices of the Krahô people to the Moviemento screen.

Grand Tour arrived with its producer, Filipa Reis, and Raquel Freire came to present Mulheres do Meu País.

A special session marked the centenary of the writer José Cardoso Pires, with a screening of Sombras Brancas introduced in person by his daughter, Ana Cardoso Pires.

João Miller Guerra and Filipa Reis came to present Légua, which they co-directed.

To close, André Marques presented O Bêbado, one more filmmaker in a season built around the conversations that followed each screening.
